The 49ers have made moves to enhance their defensive line during free agency, with key signings like Leonard Floyd, Yetur Gross-Matos, Maliek Collins, and Jordan Elliott demonstrating their focus on tackling quarterbacks. However, they will be without key players like Arik Armstead, Clelin Ferrell, Javon Kinlaw, Randy Gregory, and Chase Young.

Defensive line coach Kris Kocurek seeks younger players like Drake Jackson, Kalia Davis, and Robert Beal Jr. to boost production and provide a balanced talent pool for the 49ers’ future. Targeting four defensive linemen in early draft rounds is crucial.

Robinson, a sixth-ranked edge rusher and No. 43 overall prospect, is expected to be selected by the 49ers in the latest mock draft. Despite some technique issues, Robinson is known for his coachability and athletic abilities.

Elliss, a former Utah Ute, has shown promise in 2023, gaining first-round projections with 13 sacks, two hits, and 24 hurries in 10 games. However, Zierlein projects him in the third round, where the 49ers have the No. 94 pick.

Isaac, a Penn State product, is a fifth-ranked edge rusher and No. 39 overall prospect for PFF. He recorded 13 sacks, 12 hits, and 44 hurries in 26 games. Isaac is projected to be drafted in the late first round to third.

Trice, a former team captain and defensive player, has shown consistent productivity in Washington’s three seasons, racking up 17 sacks, 34 hits, and 99 hurries in 28 games. As PFF’s 15th-ranked edge rusher and No. 101 overall prospect, he is expected to be selected before the second round.
