Arsenal transfer news: Catch all the latest Gunners chatter, rumours and gossip including updates on Ousmane Dembele, Mohammed Kudus and Romeo Lavia plus lots more

Transfer rumours involving Arsenal has seemingly quietened down in recent times.

The Gunners have already splashed in excess of £200million, bringing in Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber. That leaves Mikel Arteta now focused on offloading a number of fringe players as he looks for the perfect squad balance.

The likes f Kieran Tierney, Folarin Balogun and Nicolas Pepe have all been linked with moves away from north London this summer, with Thomas Partey now seeming likely to stay put. Arteta’s side are also said to be monitoring Ajax playmaker Mohammed Kudus with Chelsea also interested, but Arteta and Edu may have one clear advantage in the race to sign him.

Elsewhere, it looks unlikely that Romeo Lavia will be joining Arsenal following the latest Partey news and Liverpool’s official proposal for the Belgian close to being accepted.

With that said, keep the blog on lock as we bring you the latest Arsenal transfer news LIVE from Emirates Stadium with regular updates throughout the day!

Azeez move off

Earlier this month, Sport reported that Barcelona were closing in on a deal to sign Miguel Azeez.

However, the same outlet have now reported that the Liga Ligq champions have pulled the plug on a move for the Hale End academy graduate, prioritising other options instead.

Dembele impact

Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint-Germain transfer could have a impact on Arsenal’s plans

The French international looks to be set to make the move to Parc des Princes.

Wenger to be guest of honour

Arsene Wenger will be Arsenal’s guest of honour for their friendly against Monaco in the Emirates Cup.

The two teams face off on August 2, with Wenger managing both during his coaching career.

Havertz admission

Kai Havertz has claimed that he is relishing his new deeper role since joining Arsenal.

Speaking to ESPN, Havertz said: “I really enjoy it, to play that position [as a No. 8]. I am more on the ball, more integrated in the game. I am really enjoying it. I think I have a lot of room to improve in the games, I am still adapting to the game and everything. So far it is working quite well.

“I think [goals are] important for my position, and also with my height. I want to score goals. It’s part of my game. I always have to arrive there. Hopefully it works more times in the league now.

“The team is amazing and it definitely feels like home already. They have made it very easy for me to integrate with the team. It is fun to be with them, they are all so young and hungry. This is exactly what I wanted and I am very happy to be here.”

Balogun stance

As per Sportmediaset, via Sport Witness, Inter Milan wish to spend the same amount on Arsenal striker as they would have on Romelu Lukaku, who was first choice when it came to signing a new striker.

Balogun has also been linked with the likes of AC Milan, RB Leipzig and Crystal Palace.

Torres to stay

Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has claimed that he is keen to stay at the Camp Nou this summer, with some reports linking him to Arsenal in recent times.

“It’s very important for a striker to start scoring, to get off to a good start. I’m going to fight for a place in the team. And then it is up to the coach to decide (my future),” Torres tells Sport.

“The names (linked with moves away) are provided by journalists. I have a contract here. I’m going to stay. I don’t care what anyone says about me.

“I’m going to work as hard as anyone else.”

Luiz claim

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Arsenal have no chance of signing Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer.

He told Football Insider: “This is one of those transfers that is almost impossible, to be honest.

“Aston Villa aren’t going to sell any of their best players. They don’t need to.

“If Villa didn’t sell him last summer when he had a year left on his contract, why would they do it now?

“He’s a big part of Emery’s project going forward and he was so good last season. There’s no way Emery would even entertain it.

“It’s a definite no – I think Arsenal and Spurs could find themselves priced out of any move for Luiz.”

Tierney next club odds

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has been linked with a move away from north London in recent times.

And according to odds from Betfair, Newcastle United remain the favourites to sign him this summer.

Kieran Tierney to sign for before 4th September 2023

Newcastle – 6/4

Celtic – 5/2

Aston Villa – 9/1

West Ham – 22/1

Man City – 25/1

Exits confirmed

Mikel Arteta has admitted that Arsenal will look to sell players before the end of the transfer window.

“Well, we have 30 players here which is unsustainable,” the Spaniard said in his post-match press conference yesterday after his side beat Barcelona 5-3.

“Obviously, the market is still open and things can happen. We are prepared. I’m really happy with the squad we have at the moment. We have improvements to make in terms of what we want to do in games and we still have to do that. Overall really pleased with the team.”

Lavia update

Arsenal are not in the race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on Twitter, Romano said: “Arsenal are not active in Romeo Lavia race now as Thomas Partey has good chances to stay.

“#AFC Saudi clubs approached Gunners days ago, Juventus called in June but never close to €40/45m package requested by Arsenal. Huge bid or Thomas stays. Arteta, happy with him.”
