Goed nieuws: Ajax bevestigt eindelijk Jose Mourinho als nieuwe coach

Following his dismissal from Manchester United, Mourinho said, “I belong to the top level of football.”

Although The Special One’s most recent attempt at managing ended in failure, he still thinks he can be successful among the best in football.

After losing his job at Manchester United at the end of 2018, Jose Mourinho made it clear that he intended to return to the “top level” of football management.

After two and a half years at Old Trafford, the Portuguese manager’s tenure came to an end, as his team was out of the running for the Champions League and behind both Premier League leaders Liverpool and Manchester City.

Prior to this, he had guided the team to an FA Cup and Europa League victory as well as a second-place finish in 2017–18. However, he left due to persistent rumours of tensions with senior players and United’s dismal league performance this season.

There are still whispers circulating about Mourinho’s immediate future connecting him to Real Madrid, Inter, and the Portugal national team.

However, one thing is certain: the “Special One” is not going to give up on the game.

He told BeIN Sports, “I want to coach,” in reference to the ongoing Asian Games.

“Although I have played football for a very long time, I am too young to retire. I will be 56 in a few weeks.

“I belong in elite football, which is where I plan to stay. I’m going to be in elite football because that’s where I belong.”
