The 71-year-old Washington joined the Braves coaching staff in 2016 when he was a candidate for the Braves open managerial position at the time, before Atlanta opted to promote Brian Snitker and hired Washington as the third base coach.

His time in Atlanta was filled with massive successes and many memories. Washington won a World Series on the Braves coaching staff in 2021 and had the opportunity to be on the coaching staff of the 2022 MLB All-Star Game.

Known for his work with the Braves infielders before each and every game, Washington’s most proud moment might have come this past season when the entire Atlanta infield was selected into the All-Star Game in Seattle.
