Leeds United to complete signing of Glen Kamara from Rangers ‘in coming days’

Leeds United are set to complete the signing of Glen Kamara from Rangers in the “coming days” according to Last Word on Sports.

Writing on their official website (23 August), the news outlet report that talks have heated up and that a deal is now expected to be completed.

The same source reported earlier this summer that personal terms have already been agreed, and after The Sun reported that a £5.5m deal was close on Tuesday (22 August) it seems Leeds may have their man for the midfield.

“Last Word on Football understands from sources that Leeds United are set to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara “in coming days” as the situation heats up,” they wrote.

“That leaves the only stumbling block being personal terms, which are unlikely to be a major issue.”

Leeds have been in need of a midfielder all summer but the exit of Tyler Adams to Bournemouth has amplified that need greatly.

Currently Daniel Farke’s only options for the centre of the park are new signing Ethan Ampadu, 17-year-old Archie Gray, 19-year-old Darko Gyabi and Jamie Shackleton who hasn’t been considered good enough for a while.

Kamara would bring international and Champions League experience, while also being in the prime of his career. He’d essentially be the perfect and ideal replacement for Adams.

At £5.5m he is a fraction of what we’ve just brought in for the American and he would come in hungry and with a point to prove in Engand, and getting us back to the Premier League would be exactly that.

With a little over a week until the transfer window slams shut it’s in the club’s best interest to get this deal done quickly too, so this is certainly one to keep an eye on in the coming days.
