Alasdair Gold says he’d be shocked if Tottenham didn’t try to sign £50m player this month

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he wants wholesale changes to his squad this summer, and the north London club do have some targets in mind.

Conor Gallagher is a player that has constantly been linked to Tottenham over the past 12 months, and speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has noted that he expects some movement on that front this month.

Indeed, Gold says that while a deal for Gallagher won’t be easy, he says he would be stunned if Spurs don’t make some sort of attempt to sign Gallagher before the end of the month.

Alasdair Gold says Tottenham will make Conor Gallagher move

The journalist spoke about the £50m man, claiming that he expects movement on this front.

“Yeah I wouldn’t say it’s cut and dry, but I would be stunned if Spurs don’t make some attempts to try and get involved in this as this month goes on,” Gold said.

Gallagher to Tottenham could finally happen

After 12 months of speculation, this could be the window where we finally see Gallagher end up at Tottenham.

The midfielder is entering the final 12 months of his Chelsea contract, and with no new offer on the table, a move could be on the cards.

Aston Villa are also said to be keen, so Spurs will have some competition here, but given that Villa are said to have their own financial issues, Spurs could have the edge in the race for the England international.

Tottenham have been chasing Gallagher for what feels like an eternity, and it may finally be time for Spurs to make their move and get this deal over the line.

Keep an eye on this one as the summer transfer window continues to heat up.
