Bruno Guimaraes has transfer preference amid Man City and Arsenal interest

After losing the Premier League title two seasons in a row against Manchester City, Arsenal could now lose Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes to Pep Guardiola’s team.

According to GiveMeSport, the Brazilian midfielder prefers a move to Premier League champions Man City ahead of Arsenal.

The Gunners are in a battle with the Premier League champions in the race to sign the Newcastle midfielder.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking to make additions to his squad as he aims to put an end to Man City’s dominance in the Premier League.

Both Arteta and his mentor Guardiola are looking to sign the Newcastle midfielder this summer, who has a £100 million release clause in his contract at St. James’ Park.

Arsenal and Man City both targeted a move for Declan Rice last summer with the Gunners eventually winning the race to sign the England international.

However, they could lose in the race to sign Guimaraes now as the player prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe would do everything in his power to keep the former Lyon midfielder at the club but the lure of playing for one of the biggest teams in the world under the leadership of Guardiola could be too good to resist for the midfielder.

Numerous teams appear to have taken notice of the 26-year-old, who contributed seven goals and ten assists last season for the Magpies.

It looks like Arsenal and Man City will both be involved in the race to win the top honours once again next season.

Their summer transfer business could determine their fate for next season as Arteta is planning to sign a striker along with a midfielder.

Man City move can take the midfielder’s game to next level

Joining Man City would give Guimaraes the best opportunity to win silverware next season as the Sky Blues have made it a habit of winning trophies.

Man City won the Premier League title for the fourth time in a row and if they sign Guimaraes, who is one of the best midfielders in the league, they could start the season as favourites to win it for the fifth time in a row.

Guimaraes would love the opportunity to play with players like Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri and others.
