The Whites have a vast array of youngsters who are wanted by clubs in the Premier League after their failure to win promotion from the Championship last season.
Those behind-the-scenes at Leeds have acknowledged the fact at least one key sale will be needed in order to comply with PSR, though Red Bull’s lucrative investment has put them in a better position.
At this stage, Championship POTS Crysencio Summerville looks the most likely to depart this summer, with those at Leeds having reportedly showed no real determination to keep him.
That said, Leeds will not be bullied into selling on the cheap and a price tag in excess of £30 million has been set, with Brighton the first club to open talks over a deal.
While Leeds’ financial position is not anywhere near as bad as has been made out, Summerville’s likely sale is not just going to stop interest in their other players.
In Willy Gnonto, Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter, Leeds have some really bright young talent on their books who are bound to attract interest over the course of the next two-and-a-half-months.
