‘Partner in crime’ – Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer delighted to have ‘Scouse mate’ Paul Mullin back after punctured lung
Ollie Palmer is overjoyed to see his “Scouse mate” Paul Mullin return to full fitness, with the Wrexham striker finally having his “partner in crime” back.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Dragons hot-shot Mullin, who netted 47 goals for the club last season as they were promoted into the Football League, suffered a punctured lung when figuring in a friendly against Manchester United during the Welsh side’s summer tour of the United States.

He has been gradually returning from that injury, making his first appearance of the 2023-24 season against Grimsby. Mullin is still working his way back to full match fitness, but his inclusion in Phil Parkinson’s plans has been appreciated by both the playing and coaching staff.
HOW THEY SAID IT
Palmer, who hit the target 18 times last season, told The Leader it’s wonderful to have Mullin back: “It’s good to have my Scouse mate back!” We’ve already scored a lot of goals this season, but he’s a guy we’ll always miss, and it’s fantastic to be back with my partner in crime.”
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Wrexham, who continue to attract attention under the management of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, now have a plethora of attacking alternatives at their disposal, including Sam Dalby, Billy Waters, Jake Bickerstaff, and Steven Fletcher.
