Injury Expert issues update on Leeds United defender Junior Firpo

Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on the Leeds United injury situation every week…

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, Leeds United defender Junior Firpo is still set to miss a few weeks despite his return to individual training following a knee injury.

Daniel Farke recently disclosed that the former Barcelona full-back returned to training on his own on September 18 and is doing well.

However, the injury expert believes he is still a few weeks away from returning and possibly playing the entire 90-minute game.

Brar, a Physical Therapist and Sports Scientist, said exclusively to MOT Leeds News about Firpo:

“My guess is that he had a setback during his rehab from the knee injury, which resulted in the hip injury.”

“It’s not unusual because the body is being tested and must adapt to new training loads.”

“His return will be guided by the same principles: continue to progressively build strength, control, and conditioning while monitoring how he responds as he gradually returns to training.”

“He still seems a few weeks away from returning and being ready to play 90 minutes.”
