Mickel Miller is available for Plymouth Argyle’s first away Championship match of the season against Watford at Vicarage Road tomorrow.

The 27-year-old has returned to training after picking up an ankle problem in the final pre-season game against con July 29.

“He’s available, he will be up for selection,” confirmed manager Steven Schumacher about Miller, who was limited to just seven starts and five substitute appearances last season due to injury issues.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden will also be part of the squad at Watford despite taking a painful kick to the top of a foot during the Carabao Cup tie against Leyton Orient at Home Park on Tuesday night.

Schumacher said: “He’s okay, still a little bit sore on his foot but he’s training (today) so he will be fine.”

The 20-year-old has started both Argyle games this season and impressed at the beginning of his loan spell from Premier League club Aston Villa.

It is too soon for defender Brendan Galloway to be involved in any matches after returning to training this week following a leg injury.

Schumacher said: “There will be a plan for him towards the end of the month to try and get a bounce game or maybe an in-house game, whatever.

“Brendan isn’t ready for that yet. He has only trained a couple of days so we will just keep him going. Macaulay (Gillesphey) won’t be far behind so it’s positive.”

Gillesphey is returning from a groin operation which he had after the end of Argyle’s 2022/23 League One title-winning season.
