Achilles injury update emerges on Ethan Ampadu for Leeds United v Leicester City
Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu faced an Achilles injury scare in the win over Leicester City on Friday, 3 November.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue spotted the Welshman staying on the field after a clash with Kelechi Iheanacho.
However, he got up and walked it off and ended up completing the game so it wasn’t anything serious.
Via Twitter, Donnohue wrote, “Ampadu down and staying there after a clash with Iheanacho. Nigerian forward appeared to kick him in the heel/Achilles area. Receiving treatment now. On his feet, so at least his Achilles hasn’t blown up. Walking off the pitch now, looks like he’ll come back on after his 30 seconds are up.”
Good news
Ampadu is one of Leeds’ most important players and was someone Farke wanted through the door.
He got him this summer and many thought he would be playing at centre-back and not in the heart of midfield.
Now, he’s become one of the Whites’ most important players and it’s hard to drop him from the playing eleven.
He did well with Archie Gray in midfield and is now a stellar partner to Glen Kamara as well and Farke will be delighted with it too.
Hopefully, there is nothing more to do this than a minor scare as it would not be good news for the Whites.
He’s one of the irreplaceable players in the side and Farke will definitely want to keep him fit for the entirety of the campaign.
