I enjoyed it a lot – Wolves star explains what delighted him most about beating Tottenham
Nelson Semedo believes Wolves put on a show of character in Saturday’s lunchtime victory over Tottenham.
Gary O’Neil’s men were trailing 1-0 with the game entering stoppage time only for an outstanding volley from Pablo Sarabia to look as though it had snatched a point. The hosts weren’t done though and seven minutes into added time Mario Lemina finished Sarabia’s pass to secure a remarkable 2-1 victory.
That lifted Wolves to 12th and put them nine points clear of the bottom three – and just three behind Newcastle. It also sent them into the international break in optimistic mood and Semedo, who was replaced by Matt Doherty with a quarter of the game to go, looking for even more.
“I enjoyed it a lot,” Semedo told the club website. “I felt that we did a good game, we played against a strong side, but we stuck together. We were losing since the beginning of the game, but we carried on and we kept working.
“It was really nice to win this game, especially at home and before the break. It’s important to have a good time now, the ones who are going to stay and the ones going with the national team.
“It shows the team we are, we never quit, so winning in the last minute was really nice. It shows our character. Everybody trusted everybody, believing in the work and sticking to the plan and in the end we won the game.
