Rangers boss Michael Beale has spoken out surrounding reports Leeds United are interested in midfielder Glen Kamara this summer.

The midfielder proved a solid player for the Scottish side as they went on to finish 2nd in the Scottish Premiership last time around.

Kamara is a Finnish international who has plenty experience. His quality has attracted interest this summer with it being reported Leeds United were keen on a deal for the Rangers man.

It was said a deal could cost the Championship side £5million this summer.

But, now Rangers boss Beale has offered an update on these links. Speaking to The Herald, he said:

“There’s nothing in that one at this moment.

Arsenal interested in re-signing Glen Kamara from Rangers

“He’s training in isolation at the moment, not with the group, trying to get himself up to speed.

“There’s a lot in the background with Glen as well with different enquiries and him talking to different people.

“So it’s best that he’s to the side of the group. I’ve got no issues with him on a personal level, it’s a conversation we had a good few months ago.”

Just because Leeds United don’t seem to have pursued this option yet doesn’t mean they won’t come to do so over the next couple of weeks.

Midfielder Tyler Adams looks set to leave the second tier club this summer so they need reinforcements in the middle and Kamara would fill that gap quite nicely.

The Whites have suffered a poor start to the season, but it’s still early days and the right moves between now and the deadline could have them right in contention for an immediate return to the Premier League.

It will be hoped movement is seen on the transfer front soon to ensure Leeds United can compete with the many other sides hopeful of a top six push this time around.

Up next is a fixture against West Brom this Friday. It will be a tough outing for the Whites as they look to pick up their first league win of the 2023/24 campaign.

Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is the subject of interest from Liverpool while Bournemouth have activated the player’s reported £20m release clause, according to reports.

Liverpool missed out on a deal for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo as he joined Chelsea in a deal worth £115m while Romeo Lavia of Southampton is also poised to move to Stamford Bridge for a fee that could reach £55m.

Paul Joyce of The Times reports the Merseyside club could now turn to Adams as they seek to bolster their midfield with Jurgen Klopp’s side short of options in defensive midfield after selling experienced pair Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to clubs in Saudi Arabia.

However, BBC Sport report that Bournemouth have activated the players release clause which is reported to stand at £20m following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League last term. Adams arrived at Elland Road for roughly the same price last summer as he joined from RB Leipzig and enjoyed an impressive first season in England.

The Cherries have signed seven players already this window but show no signs of stopping their recruitment under new boss Andoni Iraola.

Chelsea were said to have activated the player’s release clause but their moves for Lavia and Caicedo took precedence with Adams unable to complete a move.
