Leeds United could be forced to sell Crysencio Summerville amid Aston Villa transfer interest
Aston Villa may need to pay between £25-30m to sign the 22-year-old and according to the report Summerville may need to push for the move to make it happen if Villa make an official offer this month.
“Leeds United are not likely to be willing to do a deal cheaply, given their push for promotion this season, but a big fee could force Daniel Farke’s men into making a decision,” they wrote.
“Unlike signings from overseas, Summerville should be able to return to the Premier League and hit the ground running, having played 28 times in the league last season. Villa’s current position should also attract the player should they make a move, and they may need him to help convince Leeds to sell if they make an approach.
“To complete a deal, Villa may need to pay a fee of around £25-30million, the same amount that Tottenham paid Leicester City for James Maddison in the summer. While Summerville hasn’t proven himself for as long in the league he had two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal which puts Leeds in a strong position.”
Unless a club is offering upwards of £50m to sign Summerville this month, then there is no way Leeds should even be considering it.
That’s not because he is necessarily worth that much, although in this market he very well could be, but more because of how important he is to the team.
