The match at the Toughsheet Community Stadium was halted in the first half after a fan fell ill in the stand.
Home club Bolton posted on X: “Due to a medical emergency in the crowd, today’s game has been postponed. Our thoughts are with the family concerned. More information will follow.”
In a post on X, Cheltenham said: “Today’s fixture against Bolton Wanderers has been abandoned due to a medical emergency in the crowd.
“The thoughts of everyone at Cheltenham Town Football Club are with the individual involved and their loved ones at this time. An update will be announced in due course.”
