Bolton Wanderers forward could depart before

Deadline on Thursday, with Turkish team in the background

Prior to this Thursday’s transfer deadline, Bolton Wanderers might be prepared to fend off interest from abroad for forward Victor Adeboyejo.

Football Insider’s Pete O’Rouke reported last week that Adeboyejo is being pursued by foreign clubs following his impressive 2023–2024 season.

Why Bolton Wanderers was 'right move' for Victor Adeboyejo | The Bolton News

The former Barnsley attacker signed with the Trotters in January 2023, and in 33 games in all competitions so far this season, he has contributed two assists and eight goals for Ian Evatt’s team.

Importantly, the majority of Adeboyejo’s goals for the team have come in the 2023–2024 campaign, putting Bolton in strong position to qualify for automatic promotion.

The Nigerian-born forward is contracted to Wanderers until the summer of 2026, and would likely command a

if he decides to leave the Lancashire team in the January transfer window, a respectable fee.

O’Rourke has now given the most recent information on his future at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, indicating that Turkey is showing interest.

Before the transfer window closes, Bolton striker Victor Adeboyejo is a target for Turkish club Goztepe, the player said via his Twitter (X) account.

“Goztepe are preparing a bid for Adeboyejo as they look to lure the powerful forward to Turkey before the transfer window shuts.”

Bolton has been considering other attackers in recent weeks to further strengthen their striking depth before the transfer deadline day. It is unknown if they will need to add to their forward line before they approve the striker’s departure.

In the coming days, Wanderers might have someone lined up to replace Adeboyejo.

Journalist Alan Nixon claims (through his personal Patreon account) that Evatt was nearly successful in obtaining Niall Ennis of Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan.

Nixon later reported on Patreon that Bolton had not been able to work out a deal with Blackburn for Ennis at this time.

With his quality and how well he performed in League One with Plymouth Argyle the previous season, it would have been a strong capture, so this has been a loss for the Trotters.

Now that Bolton has acknowledged having made a bid for Bristol Rovers striker Aaron Collins, Evatt is considering whether to make another one.

Updates on Adeboyejo’s prospective move to BoltonIf they are successful in signing Collins, they might be more inclined to let Adeboyejo go before Thursday, although it might not be simple to go with one of League One’s top players.

The Trotters have added just two players this January transfer window: Nathanael Ogbeta from Swansea City and Calvin Ramsay from Liverpool. It has been a quiet transfer window thus far.

There will probably be fierce competition for promotion, and what transpires in the next few days of the transfer window might have a significant impact on on-field performance.
