Ohio State Safety in the New Caleb Downs Shares His Opinions About Nick Saban

Caleb Downs, a former safety for Alabama, first chose to play for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, and it was a wise choice. As the first rookie to lead his Crimson Tide squad in tackles in decades, Downs won SEC rookie of the Year. However, Downs concluded that Alabama no longer held any appeal once Saban declared his retirement. It didn’t take him long to determine that Columbus was the next place he needed to go.

However, Downs will take Saban’s teachings with him to Columbus, and he will apply many of the lessons he learned from the coach in Tuscaloosa to Ohio State when he dons the red and grey. “Every day, Saban was dedicated to being the best version of himself,” he stated. Few people are able to honestly say that and mean it. Every day, he was the same person. taught me a lot of lessons about consistency, discipline, and dedication. Everything associated with that and excellence. That’s what he represents.
