How to Watch the Vegas Golden Knights vs. Detroit Red Wings – (1/27/24) | Channel, Stream, Preview
DETROIT — After a strong performance in their previous game, the Detroit Red Wings will face a tough test in the third game of their six-game homestand against the Vegas Golden Knights.
After a difficult setback on Tuesday, the Red Wings rebounded with a hard-fought victory over the skilled Philadelphia Flyers. Goaltender Alex Lyon was instrumental in the 3-0 victory, stopping all 30 shots he faced on Thursday night. Combined with timely goal scoring and clutch saves, Detroit has won two of their past three games and five of their last seven.
They are also still in contention for the playoffs. The Red Wings enter Saturday with the final Wild Card slot in the Eastern Conference and sit fifth in the Atlantic Division, two points behind the Tampa Bay Lightning for third.
The Golden Knights are playing the second half of a back-to-back, having defeated the New York Rangers on Friday night. The defending Stanley Cup champions enjoyed a strong start to the 2023-24 season, but have since cooled off due to some unfortunate injuries and running into other hot teams. They presently sit second in the Pacific Division, five points behind the league-leading Vancouver Canucks.
This is the final game in Vegas’ four-game road trip. They have won two out of their first three games.
This marks the first of two matches between the two teams this season. Last year, the Knights and Wings split their two-game series.
