With a “mood shift,” West Ham is “increasingly frustrated” with Moyes and they are “looking at replacements.”
There are rumors that West Ham United is “looking at potential replacements” for David Moyes since the “mood has changed.”
Moyes faced criticism the previous season when West Ham finished 14th in the Premier League, despite having finished in the top seven twice in a row.
The Europa Conference League run proved to be Moyes’ savior. The Hammers defeated Fiorentina of Serie A in the championship game thanks to a last-minute goal from Jarrod Bowen.
They qualified for the Europa League this season with their trophy win, and they won their group to advance to the knockout stages.
However, West Ham’s performance this season has not been as strong in other tournaments. They lost to Bristol City and Liverpool, respectively, to be eliminated from the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.
They have not yet won in 2024 and have just suffered crushing defeats at the hands of Manchester United and Arsenal. Sunday afternoon at the London Stadium, Declan Rice scored a goal against his old team, the Gunners, 6-0.
Journalist Jacob Steinberg notes that Moyes is currently the third favorite to be the next Premier League manager fired, and that the “climate has changed” at West Ham.
“Although everything were good last month,
there is no longer any assurance that West Ham will offer David Moyes a new contract. Though his recent performance has changed the mood, some people still expect him to stay. Steinberg tweeted, “#whufc hoping to see improvement in results, further talks planned later in the season.”
“The team’s attitude might shift if Paqueta’s comeback strengthens the attack. Moyes would also benefit from some upcoming games that are winnable.
“With a mid-table team, there will always be ups and downs, so don’t panic. However, West Ham has been considering possible substitutes.
