Former Blue Jays manager Jimy Williams is dead at 80. 2001 saw Jimy Williams. The 80-year-old former manager of the Toronto Blue Jays passed away. The Boston Red Sox, where Williams was also manager, reported that he died at AdventHealth North Pinellas Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Florida, after a brief illness. Williams lived in the nearby community of Palm Harbour. In 1980, Williams joined the Blue Jays as a third-base coach. He was promoted to manager in 1986 to replace Bobby Cox, who left to join the Atlanta Braves. “My spouse and I are parents to four kids.
