Guillermo “Willie” Hernandez, a former Cy Young Award-winning pitcher and key player on the Detroit Tigers 1984 World Series championship team, passed away at the age of 69.
Puerto Rican pitcher Hernandez contributed to the Tigers’ 1984 World Championship win, earning the American League Most Valuable Player Award and Cy Young Award.
