NFL free agency begins in 2024, with analysis from NFL Nation reporters and experts. The first round of the 2024 NFL draft begins on ESPN, with San Francisco 49ers’ free agent signings impacting the upcoming season.

The 49ers have signed veteran pass-rusher Floyd to a two-year deal worth up to $24 million, a move that prioritizes the Niners’ defensive line. Floyd, who has 58 career sacks, is familiar with assistant coach Brandon Staley.

Floyd, a 32-year-old situational pass-rusher, is being considered for a contract with the Niners. The deal is suitable for his age and caliber, but the Niners need to continue adding end help to maximize Floyd’s potential.

The 49ers have signed one-year contract with Campbell, a former Green Bay Packers player, to replace Eric Kendricks, who left the team to join the Cowboys. Campbell, an eight-year veteran, was a standout in 2021, earning All-Pro honors and a lucrative contract.

Campbell’s knee and ankle injuries have limited him to 10 games in the past two seasons, causing the Niners to hope for his health and potential issues at linebacker aside from Fred Warner in 2024.

The 49ers acquired Collins from the Texans, sending Houston a seventh-round pick. Collins is expected to start at defensive tackle alongside Javon Hargrave, improving interior pass rush. This addition is part of the Niners’ defensive line renovation, freeing up resources for offensive line, secondary, and receiver. Collins’ eight-season productivity is a risk, but a combination with free agent Jordan Elliott could provide durability.

The 49ers have signed a two-year deal with defensive end Gross-Matos, a player who can move around on the line. The deal aims to provide stable production and depth in case of injuries. Gross-Matos, who has 13 sacks in four seasons and missed time with injury in 2023, is expected to return to a natural end spot with the Niners. The deal is worth up to $18 million.

Feliciano will resign with the 49ers on a one-year deal, having been signed as their primary backup at all three interior spots a year ago. With a pass block win rate of 94.1%, Feliciano is expected to return to the starting role, providing San Francisco with depth and certainty on the interior. The risk is if Feliciano is the only significant front-five move made by the Niners.
