Stephen A. Smith claims the Lakers-Grizzlies series is already ended: “I think it’s done.”

The Los Angeles Lakers began their playoff season with an excellent road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes the first-round series is essentially set.

Grizzlies player Ja Morant injured his hand after falling hard and reaching out to brace himself. Morant said his status for Game 2 was “in jeopardy” since he was in a lot of discomfort following the incident. The Grizzlies are already short-handed due to the absence of numerous key players, but if Morant is out for an extended period of time, the Lakers will have a big advantage going forward.

“The series is done. As far as I am concerned, the Lakers are winning this series,” Smith stated. “I believe it’s finished… Overall, I thought Memphis had a good shot of winning this series in seven games. It was going to require Ja Morant to carry it off, but I feel he is the type of star who could have done it.

In my opinion, they no longer stand a chance. With Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke out, will they also lose Ja Morant? “That is simply too much to overcome.”
