Harald Hasselbach, a Denver Broncos defensive lineman during the team’s back-to-back Super Bowl victories in 1998 and 1999, died at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer.
Hasselbach’s death was revealed by the Broncos on Thursday, citing relatives.
Hasselbach died at home in the Denver area following a six-month fight with cancer, according to his family,
‘We’d like to make it clear that he died peacefully in the comfort of his own home, pain-free,’ Hasselbach’s family said in a statement to the network. ‘He’s had an outpouring of love over the previous week, including former teammates, coaches, and family members who have come in from all around.’
